Being a perfectionist is overplayed.

One of the easiest answers to the “what’s your biggest weakness” question is saying that you’re a perfectionist. It’s a simple way to avoid any pitfalls while highlighting another positive about your personality. The only problem is that this answer has become cliché. Hiring managers report hearing the word perfectionist in far too many interviews to actually take it seriously. They also say that this term can make them skeptical of other answers from a candidate since they don’t know if they’re getting honest responses or just pre-prepared answers. It’s much better to give an honest reply to this question while outlining the steps you’ve taken to overcome a weakness.
