Job Description

Manufacturer of confection based dietary supplements and nutritional vitamins supplying the sports nutrition, natural product and nutraceutical markets. 200K sq.ft. Plant with 500 employees, 5-day, 3 shift, 3 mogul lines, 14 packaging lines, producing 30mm products daily. Company holds 37% of this market. Responsibilities: Develop, implement and manage the quality control systems designed to ensure the continuous production of high-quality products. Manage a team of QC Supervisors and technicians for the inspection of incoming raw materials through the finished goods release. Maintain and update the Quality Manual, SOPs and QC Work. Supervise production team engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity. Coordinate objectives with production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Provide technical and statistical expertise to production team. Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within company. Design, develop and implement quality control training programs. Hold a role on the internal continuous improvement team. Assist in customer, government and institution audits when required. Reports To: Director of Quality and Regulatory Compliance Qualifications: BS in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or Science. 3+ yearsâ?? experience in quality assurance / quality control in the food or dietary supplement industry. 1+ year experience in a quality management role. HACCP / HARPC-PCQI Certification preferred. Knowledge of GFSI standards.
