Lead Industrial Spray Technician Role with Competitive Engineered Seals Manufacturer
Our manufacturing clientâ??s facility in the Greater Columbia, SC, market has tremendous stability and unique manufacturing processes. A leader in performance-demanding applications ranging from engineered seals, components and pressure valves, they serve nuclear, industrial and oil/gas industries, to name a few. There are 12+ sites under this subsidiary, but roughly 100 employees and 25+ million in sales is produced from the Greater Columbia, SC, facility.

Your role with the Company: Manage the process and application of Teflon via spray coating to metal rings before shipment to the customer. Ensures feed rates, pressures and mixings are in line with customer orders.
Coating via customer specifications, implementing new creative solutions for coating new parts and maintaining a robust safety and continuous improvement mindset and culture in the department. Implements and modifies predictive and preventative maintenance scheduling systems.
Cures and bakes coated seals in Industrial Ovens.
Prepares base materials for Coating by sand blasting, masking, chemical and mechanical cleaning processes.
Ensures parts are dimensionally and visually acceptable per customer requirements using various measuring tools and equipment.
Uses understanding of customer specifications to use the correct chemicals, dimensions, inspection methods, and performance testing of finished product.
Communicates frequently and appropriately with Product Line Leader, Engineers, Quality Control, and peers to ensure daily goals are met and resources are pulled in as needed.
Maintains supplies, inventory, and expiration dates of chemicals.
Requirements: Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and a sense of inquiry if a process is in question.
A proven ability to schedule daily work and direct employees with front-line interaction, discipline, coaching, scheduling and shift priorities
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Ability to read technical drawings, documents and/or prints highly preferred.
3+ plus years in a manufacturing environment required.
Previous experience in coatings or spray painting industry highly preferred.
Knowledge of tools and machinery used in coating processes highly preferred.
Good hand/eye coordination and ability to think creatively required.
Ability to multi-task and work on several different projects/orders at once while maintaining acceptable level of quality is required.
Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement.
