Job Description

Our client has been in the business of selling, buying, leasing, financing, renting, and maintaining new and used aircraft ground support equipment for over 30 years. The company specializes in the origination and servicing of short-term rentals and long-term leases of aircraft ground support equipment throughout the aviation industry. Located on the boarder of Nassau and Suffolk Counties in Long Island, NY, the company is the exclusive North American distributor for a wide range of unique airport/ airfield maintenance equipment, including runway snow removal vehicles, multi-season airport vehicles, multi-task airport service vehicles and all season snow removal and summer maintenance vehicle. In addition, they also engage in related activities, including equipment appraisals, consulting and act as financial advisors to businesses in connection with the sale or acquisition of aviation related operations. THE POSITION Maintain fleet of aviation ground support equipment by troubleshooting, diagnosing, servicing and repairing all types of equipment at company’s facility Job Hours: Full Time, 7:30a- 3:30p Monday â?? Friday Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 (Depending on Experience) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing equipment; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, replacing filters; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components. Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling , assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components , parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, and hydraulics. Maintain equipment appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting. Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance. Load and unload equipment via forklift. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) Minimum 5 years’ experience Able to: o Repair and maintain gasoline and diesel engines o Read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematic diagrams Forklift operation and certification Self-motivated and a positive attitude with good oral and written skills CDL license preferred Able to lift minimum 25 pounds BENEFITS AND HOLIDAYS Starting salary commensurate with experience Annual discretionary bonus Generous benefit package includes health, dental and long term disability insurance 401(K) Plan with Employer matching contribution
