Technical Sales Representative Home Office (PA, NY, NJ, VA, and areas of New England) Base Salary + 20% Target Bonus + Company Car We are partnering with an 80+ year old global manufacturer of specialized material testing, measurement/ calibration instruments. This specialized division (<$100M) is profitable, stable, and growing, and is part of a multi-billion dollar organization. They develop and design complex instrumentation, as well as provide laboratory/testing facilities and solutions for customers around the world. They have a diverse customer base that spans automotive, solar testing/photovoltaic, aerospace, paint/coating manufacturers, polymers/plastics, pharmaceuticals, LED, and anyone else that needs indoor or outdoor testing services of a unique product. We have an immediate need for a Technical Sales Representative who will be in a full lifecycle sales position, responsible for hunting new business as well as manage existing/expanding business. This role will cover customers throughout PA, NY, NJ, VA, and areas of New England (car & air travel.) The Technical Sales Representative will also help in preparation of the annual budget/business plans (strategic planning as well), and collaborate with global product managers to do market research/analysis, direction, VOC, requirement, business opportunities, competitive analysis, etc. Very hands-on role with a lot of autonomy, and room to advance within a global parent company as well. Additional Responsibilities: Participates in trade shows and conferences in the US, with potential for participation in international shows when needed. Responsible for compiling lists of both current and prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from other sales reps, trade shows, advertisements, publicity programs, business directories, and other sources. Qualifies leads through initiating follow up. Responsible for the communication and coordination of delivery dates to customers based on feedback provided on production and delivery schedules. Responsible for preparing reports of business transactions. Accesses, updates and maintains record keeping systems for individual accounts including scheduling and performing any necessary follow-up activities to obtain orders. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Required (Technical Capacity preferred, not required) 4-12+ years of sales experience, business development, account management. Must be comfortable in a business development position developing new customers/up-selling within existing customers, as well as account management Must be technical in nature, will work closely with customers on project basis to solve needs (customizing equipment, purchasing existing equipment, or service-related needs of utilizing testing solutions across the USA). Capital Equipment sales experience strongly preferred Must have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, written/verbal skills Must be able to travel 50-70%, as needed
