This role will specifically be targeting the Philadelphia Area. The BDM offers excellent potential for bonuses on top of a base salary. Experience with Solutions based sales or selling services (not products) is crucial. A successful Engineering Business Development Manager will focus on delivering solutions, not products. Qualified candidates must have demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative environment where operations and sales work together to plan and execute successful projects and exceed customer expectations. Must be willing to travel as needed and will be responsible for clients in the Philadelphia Area. The ideal candidate will be technically savvy and have an understanding of engineering and industrial controls. Must be capable of engaging C-level stakeholders and building relationships! Must Have’s: Process Controls and Automation experience (DCS and/or PLC) Knowledge of heavy process industries (batch and/or continuous) Extensive experience selling Automation Solutions for process control projects or services, NOT product sales. A Solid understanding of process controls and/or automation solutions. Exceptional listening and interpersonal communication skills. A Collaborative spirit and flexible approach to sales. Qualifications/Criteria: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another technical field strongly preferred. Typically, five years or more experience in process control and/or automation solutions is a highly preferred. The ideal candidate will be proposing and closing sales to achieve assigned nominal annual territory revenue. Technical Responsibilities: Responsible for delivering sales revenue from our portfolio of offerings to clients and prospects in the assigned region. Average sales revenue responsibility of $4MM annually. Must be capable of regional and national travel to support Target Account sales. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills including strong self-motivation, focus and passion for the sales process and service to customers. Must be passionate toward building strong customer relationships and have a proven ability to prosecute and close new business. Achieves and exceeds revenue quota targets by winning new contracts and orders through prospecting and developing new customer relationships. Identifies and qualifies legitimate sales opportunities, providing a consultative and value-added approach to develop relationships. Negotiates contractual terms and conditions, and works with the proposal and technical teams to ensure smooth hand-offs and builds a sales pipeline of qualified sales opportunities. Maintains an ongoing relationship with prospective clients continuously assessing and communicating how my client can meet their needs. Develops and executes sales presentations to potential clients. Must be an accomplished user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook). Develops and implements sales plans and activities. Learns about my clientâ??s technologies, keeping up to date with the portfolio offerings and market trends. The position will require supporting our business development initiatives, requiring the Sales/ Business Development Manager to initiate and organize meetings and phone calls with prospects, prepare letters and email and will require experienced prospecting and solutions closure skills.
