One of the nation’s largest and most reputable general contractors, a top ENR firm, seeks two superintendents (level 1 and level 2) for their Oklahoma City office. Candidates should have strong experience on projects over 10M, as a lead superintendent or reporting to the lead, in one or more of these core markets: healthcare, life sciences, higher education, corporate office, high rise, and corporate office. SUMMARY: The Superintendent(s) will help plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects, which may be technical and complex; will help plan and oversee all scopes of assigned project and assist in pre-planning for every stage of the project from the pre-construction to post-construction to meet the goals set by project schedule and supervisor. This position will be responsible for managing material and equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring documentation is complete and meeting project goals to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Superintendent Level 1: Provide oversight for multiple concrete scopes of work such as foundations, columns, walls, SOG, decks, and paving. Manage field layout and excavating actives. Plan and produce units, and monitor/adjust crew sizes for maximum efficiency. Create complete crew task plans and look ahead schedules with crew/subcontractors. Manage crews or trades to fulfill work plans. Coordinate crew operations with relevant subcontractors. Assist In development/ implementation of project and crew specific safety plans, and ensure compliance using training, tool box talks, and communication with in-house resources. Attend in-house first aid, CPR, and OSHA training. Maintain current OSHA 30. Record timecards with accurate hours and ensure coded to proper cost codes; complete daily reports, logs, and tracking reports. Record unit cost information for weekly reports. Ensure quality compliance through use of specifications, in-house QA/QC, and outside resources. Set quality standards. Assist with MOC and procurement. Assist in project closeout by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with owner, architect, and governing authorities. Manages fairly complex stand-alone projects from start to finish. Assumes responsibility for management, scheduling, production, quality and safety on their project or their portion of the project. Identifies, understands and actively manages project risks. Utilizes awareness, experience and knowledge to identify problems and recommend solutions for review and implementation by the team. Manages deliverables provided by a variety of internal resources and functions such as IPS, logistics, etc. Taking direction from others and working in a fast-paced team atmosphere is key. Superintendent Level 2 (in addition to being responsible for the above): Help manage and oversee company staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, and Safety, Quality and EEOC programs. Help plan overall construction sequencing and develop work plans for subcontractors and self performed work. MANAGE material and equipment on the project. Together with Project Manager, create, manage, change, and implement the project schedule as needed. Track and manage budget and all costs by using Company project management system cost reports and data from the project manager. Monitor labor, material, and equipment costs for the project. Responsible for documentation on the project, and maintaining organized filing system per SOP. Update drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks. Accurately document project communications. Communicate as a member of the company’s leadership team with owners, design team, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments. Attend company in-house training including: Safety, QA/QC, scheduling. Effectively Oversee, and help teach and mentor field staff. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred) In lieu of degree, equivalent relevant experience will be considered per the below (preferred): 5+ years experience in field supervision with a degree (Level 2) Or 7+ years construction experience without a degree (Level 2) 3-5 years experience managing concrete projects (Level 2) 8+ years construction experience with a degree (Level 1) Or 10+ years construction experience without a degree (Level 1) 5+ years experience managing concrete projects (Level 1)
